Sister Love

Halle Kate knows the routine when we drop Matney off at preschool because as soon as we're in the parking lot she starts saying "Matmat, bye bye". Most days she is squealing in the parking lot when we are waiting to pick her up. This particular day HK must have missed Matney more than usual because she was all over M when we walked inside. Matney didn't seem to mind the attention one bit!

Peanut Butter

I know that the recommendation for children under 2 is no peanut products but since peanut butter is one of the few things HK will eat I give it to her any time she wants it. This day she was very excited to make a mess with peanut butter and pretzels on her tray.
And Matney was more than happy to sneak a few licks off HK's tray when she didn't think I was watching.

Dressed for tea

Kate Middleton has nothing on the Heald girls' style. Look at them all dressed up for morning tea.

Christmas Cards!

Am I the only one who cannot believe it is time for Santa to land his sleigh in Atlanta? Goodness, it is 75 degrees outside and I am pretty sure Mr. Claus will be at our local outdoor shopping mall beginning this weekend. I also am pretty sure he is going to be HOT in his suit! We've already been working on our Christmas plans and gift lists. Imagining the girls this year makes me so excited about the next two months.

Selecting Christmas cards is always one of my favorite parts of the year. I love the opportunity to send greeting to friends and family we don't see during the year . Years ago I walked into the nearest store and grabbed any box of cards, signed my name and tossed them in the mail. I think people probably opened the card, read my name and tossed it in the trash! Now that I've got two of the worlds cutest girls photo cards are so much fun to select. We also save the ones we get from year to year because the girls enjoy looking at pictures of their friends. This year I've been looking for the right outfits (and bows!) for our Christmas picture and just the right cards. Look at these I found on Shutterfly. I don't know which ones I'll use yet but these are some of my favorites.

So many decisions to make! I also need to start selecting pictures for our 2011 calendars. Last year we gave them as gifts and they were a big hit. I checked and Shutterfly has new wall calendar designs and you can personalize the dates. Perfect. Their Photo wall art would also make great gifts. While trying to find my favorites I also came across these Christmas invitations. These invites are so cute they make me want to throw a party. Who wants to come?

Clearly I need to step away from the computer before I order them all. Picking my favorite will be a tough choice!

And if you're a blogger and want to receive 50 free Christmas cards from Shutterfly click here! What a great way to get into the holiday spirit!

Old Lady pancake breakfast

We had a yummy pancake breakfast last week. The same week I turned thirty-one. The same week Jared snapped this picture and I look like I am wearing reading glasses. Now I know what I'll look like in a few more years. If only I had them on a cool chain around my neck. Too bad I can't get the 5% off senior citizen discount at Publix yet!

Crafting and broken bananas

Last time my mom was here she left some things for the girls and me to craft with. I really didn't pay that much attention to her back until it was a cold, rainy day and we were stuck inside. I figured that this would be a fun way of passing the day. I was wrong. First problem, it said to connect all the foam pieces with craft glue. Seriously, that won't work. I went upstairs and grabbed my trusty hot glue gun. Hot glue can solve almost everything.

We tried very hard to put Rudolph together. Unfortunately every time Matney picked him up one of his legs would fall off. Oops.
Eventually Matney got tired of fixing Rudolph and wanted a banana. Unfortunately the banana broke. She was more than mad.

Thanks to Rudolph and a smart mom I fixed the banana. How? I stuck the toothpick that wasn't working in our reindeer in the middle of M's banana. She thought I the fix was cool and ate her snack.
We did eventually finish Frosty and Rudolph but they only last 3 minutes once I handed them to the girls. After HK had to give me Frosty's head about 5 times I took them away and we went back to playing dollhouse. Oh well, it was still fun to try something different.

GA Aquarium

We got up early and headed south one morning to go to the GA Aquarium with friends. The ride there is about an hour and the girls were more than excited to bring their dog/robots/pacis in the car (those items normally don't get to leave the bed.). When we walked inside and were greeted by a huge wall of wish both girls perked up fast! We had a great time looking at fish, sting rays, whales, etc until an albino alligator spooked Matney. She recovered by the time we were crawling around in the penguin tunnel though. The girls only lasted about an hour before both were melting down. I don't think we'll go back until they are a little older but it was a great way to spend the morning.

The super scary albino alligator (crocodile?) that terrified Matney.

Inside the penguin tunnel. HK made friends with this little guy.

I am a slow learner

I wonder how many times I'll have to post "I turned my back and one of the girls got the sprinkles out of the pantry and chowed down" before I take those sprinkles and hide them!?!?!?

Grown up

Is it just me or is Matney looking like a grown up? Boots over leggings? Yes, please. I love season changing and new clothes. And look who sat still long enough for pigtails? She's so stinking cute!

Apparently she can't be left alone...

Apparently I should not leave Halle Kate alone while the fridge OR pantry is open. She is tiny but I promise we feed her. After the chocolate syrup incident last week, yesterday I found her running around with a large container of sprinkles. She had the top off of one compartment and was dumping them into her mouth. Heaven help me, she is her mama's daughter!
