One rainy Saturday we decided to make super hero capes, a long overdue craft in our house. The girls got to pick material out of my fabric scraps and we put them together. Matney picked princess material with an M and a tiara. HK picked blue and white polka dots with her initials and a silhouette of Robot. One day while Matney was at school HK wore her cape all around town and got lots of laughs! I love my little super heroes!

Smiles
Ev started smiling at 7 weeks. She gets more and more happy every day. I took these with my phone one of the first mornings she was really grinning. Her favorite place to be is on the changing pad in her room and she would prefer to be naked. At night some times, if she is really fussy, we’ll get her naked and put her on a blanket and she calms right down. Silly girl!
New Swing Set
The old swing set wasn’t the best now that the girls are getting bigger so Jared took it apart and he and Granddaddy built a new one. The girls and Max were determined to stay outside with them… projects with lots of helpers are way more fun, right?!?!?!
The girls needed snacks while they finished supervising!
The fort part of our old swing set moved up into the woods, you can kind of see it to the top right of the bottom picture. I think the plan is to someday build another fort with the swings.
Matney’s Birthday Weekend
We spent Saturday morning at the mall with our usual pretzels and train ride.
Doesn’t Jared look happy? He’d had an issue with a lady cutting in line for the coal car. No worries, I saw it start and intervened! Jared got to go take a walk and I waited until the next train with the girls.
Matney picked Mexican for her bday meal. She loves chips, cheese and people singing to her. She was the one who wanted to go and kept asking to make sure they were going to sing to her but she got really shy when the singers got to the table.
On Sunday we had Matney’s party at a local gym. She had all the girls in her class come (there are only 5 other girls and 12 boys!) and lots of her other friends. All of the girls seemed to have a great time bouncing around the gym!
They hopped down a long trampoline and then jumped into a big foam pit.
Look who came! It is Ms. Sherrie! When I picked Matney up at school Friday she asked me if Matney was having a party that weekend….because Matney had invited her. Ha! I told her she totally didn’t need to come but she got the party info from me and all the girls from Matney’s class went running to her when she walked in. Have I mentioned how much we adore her? Wonder what she’ll think of us after a year of Halle Kate next year!
The goal of the party, besides Matney having a great time, was to totally wear those little girls out and be able to put them in bed early! ha!
We had snacks and cupcakes before opening presents. It is a lot crazy when there are that many kids together but Matney had a great time. We are thankful to have so many wonderful friends!
Matney woke up to a balloon filled room again this year (thank goodness she reminded us that we did it last year!). It was a school day and we took treats to her class and then had a pizza dinner at home.
