Introducing....

Introducing the world's sweetest baby. Look at this precious girl. She really does get sweeter and sweeter every day. After Matney's "babyhood" (ie, months and months of screaming with no sleeping) we can't believe we managed to have such a nice, sweet, smiling girl.

Does this go well with pumpkin?

Does anyone think that black eyes go well with pumpkin? Because I am pretty sure this is going to be really pretty for pumpkin pictures this weekend.
After being stuck with sick kids for 10 days I am trying really hard to get things done...like changing out the girls' closets from summer to fall/winter stuff. Our upstairs is an EXPLOSION of tiny pink outfits. Trying to contain Miss M, I put her in a cardboard box with crayons and let her draw on the box. Somehow she flipped the box over, tossed herself out and went head first into the side rail of the bed. There is always something going on around here!

Pumpkin time!

I made the girls shirts to wear to the pumkin patch this weekend. Like them? I think they are cute!

Just when I am getting ready to blog a baby wakes up...gotta run!

Fall

I am so excited that Fall seems to be just around the corner. Cool weather, pretty leaves, pumpkin spice candles. I LOVE IT! We're taking a trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend and I am so excited. I just have to make sure the girls have perfect outfits for fall pictures! Matney likes to play on the deck in the mornings but isn't used to cold temperatures. Last week I just let her out the door in her pj's and she was good to go!

Make her stop!

Halle Kate says, "Please, mama. Make her stop!"

Matney counting...as usual.

Oh my goodness. Matney has leaned to count to 12...and she is driving me crazy!!! Last week being stuck in this house day after day I am pretty sure we counted EVERY. SINGLE. THING...TWICE. When I put bites of food on her tray, Matney has to count them. When she remembers she has fingers or toes, she has to stop and count them. We count books, we count balls, stairs, toys... We count pictures in the books, we count pictures on the walls. She is driving me CRAZY. Honestly, in her little voice it is really cute but JUST EAT YOUR LUNCH ALREADY!!! This particular day she was counting her fingers in between bites. Poor Halle Kate. I was holding her and she just wanted to go take a nap. I don't like leaving M while she's eating so I was trying to hurry her along. Obvoiusly, I gave up and got the camera. That always makes her stop whatever cute she's doing and run in circles so I can't get a good picture. Not this day...one, two, three....

Obsessed

Seriously, y'all. This baby is obsessed with her toes! Ever since she found them last week she can't get enough of her piggies. I meant to take a picture of her leg. She's got tiny scratches all down one side and I couldn't imagine where they came from...until I watched her. She is so determined to get her toes to her mouth that she's clawing at her legs. Needless to say her nails have been cut to little nubs but I don't think it will help. She is in love with her feet!

Feet on the table

If you come for dinner not only will you find feet on the table...there's a whole baby girl! The end of the day is rough around here and I've finally figured out that if I put M at the table and HK on the table they are starting to entertain each other. HK thinks Matney is hilarious and is always laughing at her. And of course Matney thinks anyone who will laugh at her is wonderful. They are so cute!

The things she'll do...

Oh, the things Matney will do for a paci.
Since the paci started going away Matney is increasingly desperate for a "fix" of orange plastic. At a friends house last week, before the colds took over, she was running around playing. As she ran through the kitchen one time I thought she'd gotten into some food because she had red on her face. On her next loop through I caught her and realized she had a big scratch near her eye. We couldn't imagine what she'd done until someone said "well, the paci sure did calm her down.". Um, what paci? You mean the one she has in her mouth? Where did that come from??? We walked around tracking Miss M's movements and finally realized she spied the paci behind a picture frame and had to go over a box, through a chair and reach up onto a table to get it. Somewhere in all that she cut her face. At home that would result in hysterics. But at someone else's house when she snags a paci...blood coming from her face didn't bother her at all. Little stinker!

Meet Sophie

Meet the newest addition to the family, Sophie the giraffe. Mom found out about her somewhere and ordered her for Halle Kate. She's a teether and apparently has been very well loved around the world for more almost 50 years. Halle Kate really likes it but Matney is pretty sure it should be hers. Trying to teach Miss M that she isn't the boss in this house is going to be hard!

Where did we go?!?!

This picture doesn't have anything to do with anything...Matney just makes me laugh. She was walking around today wearing Jared's hat sideways. She knew we thought she was funny.

Anyway, moving on. Where have we been? In the land of snot. Last week both Matney and Halle Kate came down with a nasty cold. Oh my, one sick child is hard but two sick ones...ugh. They were so congested that neither one could really sleep so I've been on the couch or in a chair holding a munchkin much of the night since last Tuesday. Last night they FINALLY both slept better and in their own beds. Thank goodness. Of course, it would now Jared and I both are snorting and sniffing. We're hoping it will be gone in the morning. Halle Kate seems much better, just a little runny nose. Matney is better than she was but she's still really snotty and really congested. If this is a sign of what winter is going to be like I am NOT looking forward to it!
