Drool!

Matney has 12 teeth...and must be working on the next 4. Gracious look at that drool. Her shirts are soaking wet within the first 5 minutes she wears them. We are changing her clothes all the time. Yuck!

What can 3 hairs do?

If those 3 hairs are long enough they can hold a bow! What do you think?!?!?

Matney's First Injury

We knew it was going to happen sooner or later now that Matney is walking everywhere...our first injury. Poor baby! She fell walking around the kitchen and hit her lip on the cabinet. She cried but was running around like a wild girl after about 5 minutes and an ice cube. And I've gotten a couple emails since I posted about the last week so just to clarify...Apparently preeclampsia can develop up to two weeks after you deliver a baby. Who knew?!?! It is not common but it can happen...and I just happen to be the one to get it! It is also rare that anyone is allergic to the blood pressure medicine they try first but I was. If I had my phone around I'd upload the picture I took in the ER of me, after I broke out in hives 5 minutes after they started the medicine in my IV. It has been one thing after another this week. The medication we quadruped finally seems to be working and my blood pressure has come down into a normal range for the first time since this started. We have asked and been told that there is no way to know if this will be a concern with future pregnancies. I am thankful to have gotten the crazy headache so that I went to the dr. Otherwise it wouldn't have been caught and treated so quickly. Now, if the headache would disapper for good I'd feel much better!

Bubbles

While Jared was home he played outside with Matney and her bubble machine. Matney had a great time trying to catch them.

Halle Kate week 2

Halle Kate and I spent some time together on the floor after Matney went to bed last week. I think she was 10 days old in these pictures. Isn't she pretty? We think so!

Halle Kate's first week

Here are some pictures of Halle's first week. She is SUCH a sweet baby. Sorry I forgot to flip the first one before I uploaded it. I am abou tot put up several of her second week if Matney will keep playing by herself long enough for me to get it done.

That's MY Sister!!!

It took a couple days but Matney LOVES "finding" the baby. When she hears Halle making noise she runs all around trying to find her, yelling "baby, baby" the whole time. So sweet!

Backyard Fun

Here is Matney running around outside. I don't think I ever got pictures of the playset up so here is your first look at Matney's fun backyard!

Pool Time

Jared got out Matney's baby pool and just knew Miss M would love "swimming" with Daddy. He was wrong. These picture were taken over the 5 minutes that she stayed in the pool. Eventually she was willing to at least sit on his lap without her head buried in his shirt!

Still Here

Sorry for the lack of posts...I seem to be falling apart and the computer is still being crazy and we are probably just going to go buy a new one. I just tried to upload a bunch of pictures but it won't let me. So frustrating. I will try again soon.

The transition from 3 to 4 is going really well. Jared was able to be home for 12 days and we LOVED having him here. He and Matney are bestest buddies now and it is obvious that she spends much of her day waiting on him to get home and play. Halle Kate could not be any sweeter. She sleeps much of the day, in her crib...can you imagine that?!?!? At 2 weeks old she has slept more in her crib than Matney had at 6 months old. She is sleeping through the night, just waking every 3 or 4 hours to eat. I hesitate to say it, for fear that I'll have to take it back tomorrow, but the addition of another baby has been much, much easier than anticipated. I promise I will keep trying to get the pictures up. There are some really cute ones!

The only thing that hasn't gone according to plan is me. I got a horrible headache accompanied by crazy vision that started last Friday and thought it was a migraine. Long story short it didn't go away and it turns out that my blood pressure is really high (which can apparently happen after pregnancy, who knew?). I started medicine and at the beginning of the week and have been monitoring it closely. Last night it got way too high and I spent the night in the Northside Hospital ER. Good times! They got it low enough that it wasn't dangerous and I saw my dr again this morning. He quadrupled the medicine and, for the first time in a week, it is finally coming down closer to a normal range. My headache should finally go away once the blood pressure gets regulated but until then light, noise, etc have been hard. I will continue to monitor it several times a day and pray that we can stay in a normal range and not have to go back to the hospital again.

Give me a day or two to get back in the swing of things and I hope to have all sorts of cute little girl pictures up for you!
