Birthday Cake

Who in the world would think of leaving these girls with all that candy/junk/sugar? Take one guess! A Grandparent is the only possible answer! Just before HK's bday MoMo showed up ready to make a robot cake.

And you know what is great about a MoMo who makes cakes? It means Mommy gets some free time! Ha! I look like such a slacker parent in this picture!

Cake + icing + candy = HAPPY CHILDREN

As fast as candy bags were opened little mouths were full!

Ta Da! HK inspecting her cake.

Robot cake for a robot loving girl. Poor baby, we made the cake while MoMo was here over the weekend and she didn't like having to wait 2 more days until her bday to eat it!

End of School

We had another great year at Creekside Christian Academy! It took HK until Christmas to not scream, kick and cry in the carpool line but by May they were both all smiles on preschool mornings. Both girls had last day of school parties at the same time...and there is only one of me so the girls went two parties!
First HK and I joined M's class for a pizza party.

Then they washed their hands and we headed outside for the second part of HK's party. I took the picture above because they both got up from the table, threw their plates away and washed their hands without me saying a word. Ummm, in this house I would say that they have no idea how to even find the trash can!

We arrived at HK's party just in time for cupcakes!!!

At the end we made sure to get pictures with teachers. Matney loved being in class with Ms. Julie and Ms. Kathy.

And HK had a great year with Ms. Andrea and Ms. Jackie - thank goodness for Ms. Andrea. After the first few weeks of tears I was ready to pull HK out and keep her with me for another year but Ms. A always calmed me down and promised me that HK was fine.

Summer will be fun and then they'll have one more year together at Creekside - can't believe Matney will be in pre-K next year!

Bun in a dirty oven

Anyone know what this is a picture of?????
Ha! I bet a lot of you know this by now but we have a bun in the oven again! Yep, we're 10 weeks pregnant and baby Heald #3 is due the end of January 2013. Eeek! This is the picture I sent my mom to tell her, and it isn't very clear but I thought she'd get it. Any guesses? Nope? Number one, don't think mom is too impressed with my oven cleaning skills (side note - I've never had a gas oven so if you have any tips on cleaning this without blowing up my house let me know. Although I guess I can just google it!). Anyway, she was with friends and the first guess was that I was learning to cook brioche. Um, no. I don't even know what brioche is other than bread and I don't have time to make bread. The next guess was why I was incubating eggs. And (pretty much) nope again, at least not chicken eggs. Ha! Pregnant, ladies, pregnant.  You've heard of a "bun in the oven"???...nope? Ok, not a good idea for a picture but it was kind of funny.

Clear picture or not we've got a great heartbeat and I have another serious case of all day sickness. I've had several people recently ask me if I am mad at them....because I started getting sick at the beach week 6 and I have pretty much bailed on everything and everyone for the last month. Ugh. So sorry to everyone who has called or emailed or we were supposed to meet and I've ignored you. I promise I am not mad at anyone! Being sick is miserable but we have a healthy baby so I'm thankful.

There are lots of things to figure out before the holidays - we've already taken a big step and I am now the proud driver of a minivan (which I hate to admit but I LOVE). Now we need to figure out where this baby will sleep, when we'll get to Disney since we'd planned to go in Jan, how to get the girls ready, where to add another kitchen table chair, etc. This little one is already making sure we know he/she is coming! And yes, we will find out what we're having - sometime in Sept I think.

Summer Phone Dump

We've been going in a million directions all summer. Here are some fun pictures from my phone.

The new Disney Princess movie came out in June. Matney had some birthday gift cards left over (thanks again, Aunt Ickie, but I think the person who gives the Toys R Us card should be the one to spend hours in the store with the girls! ha!) and before we saw the movie we went to Toys R Us and M picked out the new princess doll. She is obsessed with Merida (the princess) and asks every day for her size of the Merida dress so that they match. All stores around here have been sold out since before the movie started leaving Matney to say that she may have to ask Santa.

We stayed home for the 4th of July but Matney still made sure she wore the right clothes. The girls ended up being given several cute red, white and blue dresses.
HK still loves Robot and her robot jammies. Sweet girl. And yes, someday I will get that chair recovered! Even now we all love to cuddle in my "grandmama chair". So thankful to have it!

We went to the beach in June. J's office has a place on Amelia Island we were able to use. It was beautiful and I'll do a full post on that soon. HK didn't like the beach - she didn't mind the sand but said the "big ocean waves are too loud" so she didn't spend much time there. Matney loved going to the beach with Daddy in the morning. Here they are looking for shells.

Kind of out of order but when we took our trip to Toys R Us HK had some bday money left too. I tried to talk her into something from the movie since we'd see it the next day but she was only interested in a talking Captain Hook.

We've had fun days outside with our friends.

We've gone to lots of birthday parties.

This is a little older but Matney likes to sleep with all of her princess dolls.

Sweetest thing ever. HK hasn't taken a nap in a really long time but she wore herself out one day and fell asleep on my back. So glad I had my phone to document the moment. She didn't sleep long, and I couldn't cuddle her, but I ate it up!

Meet HK Captain America!

Shew weee! If you've never seen HK pitch a fit then you've not been here too often....and you are lucky. This kid can get so mad so quickly. Pretty sure we all know which side of the gene pool she gets that temper from!

Twice our washing machine has gone nuts. Once it quit working and once it decided to drain water into the house and not the drain line. I was in the bathroom downstairs when it started "raining". Thank goodness I was home and it didn't ruin the floor/ceiling. Jared and my dad spent LOTS of hours getting it fixed both times. Thanks, guys. I can't function without my washer!

HK was a great washing machine repair helper.

Too short boy pants that she took out of a pile to give away, Thomas the train shirt, Robot and a Towmater hat make the perfect outfit.

We've had lots of fun since school got out. I did finally find my camera so I'll get real pics on soon.

Wax Bottles!

Who remembers these? Wax bottles full of ??? sugar syrup, I guess. Only a grandparent would show up with these....and that is why kids love grandparents! Thanks, MoMo!

The girls were not sure what to do with these at first but it didn't take long before they were slurping them down.

Cabbage Patch - Babyland General

***I am trying to get the picture from this summer up. I'll post them here for now and then move them to the correct month in a few weeks. Pretty much from the second week of June until about 6 weeks ago I didn't take one picture or blog one time. Weeks 6- 20 of pregnancy are NO JOKE if you're sick!
One day in June my mom came in town and we surprised the girls with a trip to Babyland General Hospital - aka The Cabbage Patch. They'd been once before but both girls and MoMo had been asking to go.

Don't you like HK in a dress? She was willing to wear this one because "it has a belt like Daddy".

We played with and rocked lots of babies.

Women everyehere all wish that birthing babies could be as simple as plucking them from a cabbage leaf!

MoMo let each girls pick a doll. Out of thousands of available choices HK attached herself to this baby early on. She carried it around the entire time we were there and never changed her mind. The footie jammies, HK's personal favorite clothing option, won her over. That baby is wearing a purple polka dot outfit that says "Daddy's Princess". Once you've paid for your doll you can go to an adoption room where a "nurse" fills out the birth certificate for you. We'd all like to introduce you to the newest member of the family....Pizza Guy Heald. Gotta love it! We tried to convince HK that this was a girl doll (you know, wearing purple outfit with princess on it) but she wasn't having it. The gender was changed on the birth certificate and we brought him home. Since it is really Nov when I am writing this I can tell you that MoMo's money was well spent. Pizza Guy has had his own crib for months, it stays beside HK's bed. Every night she tucks him in and almost every morning she remembers to get him up and leaves him on her bed with a toy.

Matney had a very hard time making up her mind which doll she wanted. We had to walk back through the patch several times looking at all her choices. Eventually she picked Alaina Clara the most dressed up, all purple, bows in her hair wearing ruffles doll she could find. Her doll already came with that name so we didn't get to experience any more naming creativity. Both girls added a baby doll bottle to their purchase and were very happy to rock their new babies on the porch outside.
