The Princess and the Pea(nut)

The girls had a red letter day this week. First Matney got her haircut, then we walked to the candy store and went to play at Barnes and Noble where it was ballerina story time(not that either of them were willing to sit still and hear a story). We left there and played outside at The Avenue "park" where they threw pennies in the fountain. It was hot so we headed to have lunch at Chick fil a and stopped at Publix on the way home where they "drove" the car shaped cart and split a cookie. I mean, what more can a girl ask for? Even though we didn't hear the stories the ballerina books must have influenced Miss M because when she woke up from her nap she wanted to put on her ballerina outfit, an additional tutu and her pink sparkle shoes. Halle Kate, the peanut (who still doesn't even weigh 19lbs and will be 2 before we're able to turn her carseat around to face forward!), didn't get dressed up but joined Princess Matney for some pictures. For once, they were both in great moods at the same time!

These pictures were taken about 12 hours before Matney woke up Thursday lethargic. I got her downstairs and she just laid on her Elmo bed, she wouldn't even open her eyes to watch Dora. Needless to say I got HK up and dressed and we headed straight for the dr. She had no symptoms of anything, not even a fever, so we decided to watch her for the rest of the day to see if anything changed. By naptime she literally had not taken one step all day and Jared came home from work to hold her (because she cried that she wanted Daddy, not Mommy. Nice.). When she woke up she seemed a little better and we were going to pick up a pizza for dinner knowing that she would have to be really sick not to want pizza. Less than two minutes in the car ride she threw up EVERYWHERE. Lovely. Since HK was throwing up last week I'm not terribly surprised but yuck! We got her cleaned up and she acted totally normal, crying because she wanted pizza. Poor girl only got a few crackers before bed and slept fine all night. When she woke up this morning the first thing out of her mouth, before the light was on or she was out of her bed, was "I'm better. Can I have pizza and gummies now?". HA! Sweet girl was starving! We'll stay home for a few days to make sure we're not spreading germs but she has been fine all day. Two kids definaltly means double the opportunity to catch germs and double the time stuck home with sick kids!
